Let Harrisonburg-Rockingham Community Services Board Show You The Way To a Successful Career

HRCSB provides the opportunity to gain professional experience through our internship/ practicum programs for Bachelor’s and Master’s level students.  We value the opportunity to partner with local colleges and universities to assist students in deepening their learning and education. We offer a variety of opportunities through our diverse programming.

Some benefits of your internship may include:

  • Direct clinical experience with clients
  • Supervision from experienced and supportive clinicians
  • Training in writing progress notes, treatment plans, and other clinical documentation
  • Increased knowledge of community resources
  • Practical Application of Business Processes
  • Computer Support Training

Working at the McNulty Center for both my practicum and internship has been an important and great experience.  I have been able to learn skills in a variety of areas including individual therapy with children and adolescents, play therapy, family therapy, and group therapy, both in the outpatient and school settings.  I have been encouraged to explore and learn about different ways of counseling and working with clients.  McNulty also offers great and supportive supervision and connection with a larger staff in a well-known community agency!  I have benefited in so many ways from this opportunity, both for my own personal growth and counseling development and for my professional growth and development.
