Harrisonburg-Rockingham Community Service Board Is A Leading Provider of Behavioral Health Services in Our Community
We care deeply about the behavioral health and wellbeing of our community. HRCSB offers outpatient therapy with licensed professional clinicians for adults and children. Therapists utilize evidence-based practices to support individuals and families that are struggling with mental health and/or substance abuse issues.
Client-Centered Treatments
Our client-centered treatments provide individualized, need based, and strength based therapy. Our licensed professional therapists are trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical therapy, motivational interviewing, solution–focused therapy, and play therapy. We are equipped to assess and diagnose mental health and substance abuse issues and work with you to determine the proper treatment goals and outcomes.
Recovery Support through Therapeutic Groups
HRCSB offers therapeutic groups for adults that meet regularly to facilitate participants’ recovery in their community. Licensed, trained professionals facilitate evidence-based curriculum for a set number of meetings. Groups are limited to a moderate number of participants to ensure adequate attention is given to each individual. Therapeutic groups are often part of an overall course of outpatient treatment. HRCSB also offers a limited number of Spanish-speaking groups.
Serving our Veterans through the Virginia Wounded Warrior program
The Virginia Wounded Warrior Program is a partnership between the Virginia Department of Veterans Services and Community Service Boards throughout Virginia. The program is a resource to disabled veterans on their road to recovery from the effects of stress-related injuries. HRCSB participates in the Wounded Warrior Project by providing outpatient counseling services to disabled veterans to address behavioral health and substance use issues. For more information on the Wounded Warrior Project visit their website.
Develop Skills To Keep Your Family Together With Foster Care Prevention Services
Our goal is to keep families together in our community. The HRCSB administers a grant-funded program providing substance abuse treatment and therapy to parents of children who are at risk of being removed to the foster care system. We provide services both in our offices and in the home to support recovery. Referrals come through the Sentara RMH STAR program.
Everyone Deserves Quality Mental Health Care
We believe that every person deserves quality mental health. Our commitment to our community includes accepting all insurance. If you do not have insurance we offer a self-pay option that operates on a sliding scale relative to your financial situation.
