Early Intervention Clinician I/II
The Harrisonburg-Rockingham Community Services Board is pleased to offer a new opportunity to join our team of Early Intervention Clinicians (EIC) who provide a variety of clinical services and supports within our local schools. EIC services focus on working with at-risk students who are identified as needing in-school clinical support due to struggles with mental health, substance use, or difficult life circumstances. For these students an EIC will provide therapeutic support, linkage to resources in the community, and crisis/safety assessment as needed. Ideal candidates for this position will work from a person centered and trauma informed framework while also having a passion for working with a diverse group of students and staff within a school setting. This position is full-time, salaried, works within the 10 month school calendar and includes benefits like health insurance as well as enrollment in the Virginia Retirement System. License (LCSW, LPC) or License Eligible status is a requirement for this position. HRCSB will provide clinical supervision towards getting your licensure as part of the employment package.
Adult Outpatient Clinician I/II
The Harrisonburg-Rockingham Community Services Board is pleased to offer a new opportunity to join a team of therapists dedicated to serving their community. This full-time therapy position will provide individual and group therapy to individuals struggling with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring issues. Clinical Advocate – Summit House
HRCSB is seeking licensed-eligible or licensed (LPC, LCSW) individual to join the Summit House team as the Clinical Advocate.
Summit House is a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program (PSR) informed by the Fountain House/Clubhouse model. All advocates (staff members) work side by side, as equals, with members (that is, clients) in the day-to-day work of the clubhouse including current work units of clerical, kitchen and maintenance. The goal of PSR is the development, practice and maintenance of daily living skills, coping strategies and education regarding mental health diagnosis. Advocates also lead brief groups (30 minutes or under)on various topics intended to promote recovery and increased quality of life.
The clinical advocate takes primary responsibility for initial assessments, annual assessments, treatment plans and insurance authorizations requests. The clinical advocate also completes daily documentation, and completes quarterlies for a caseload of Summit House members in compliance with Medicaid and licensing requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess good communication skills, both written and oral, a person-centered approach, and a passion for working with persons with severe and persistent mental illness. Supervision towards professional license is available. This position requires candidates to be licensed eligible in the State of Virginia. Minimum of one year experience working with persons with serious and persistent mental illness preferred.
Adult Mental Health Case Manager
HRCSB is looking for a compassionate community-based case manager to work with adults diagnosed with serious mental illness and co-occurring developmental disabilities or substance use. This position is responsible for accessing, linking to and monitoring services and resources for adults in community recovery services. This position requires extensive knowledge of a wide range of individual service approaches and resources for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness. Such as skills in delivering services and crisis interventions and ability to work cooperatively and effectively with individuals. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree is required, additional education and/or experience in a mental health, developmental disabilities, or substance abuse setting is preferred. Individuals with bilingual Spanish proficiency are encouraged to apply.

Established in 1972, HRCSB is quasi-governmental agency that specializes in the treatment of behavioral health and developmental disabilities. Enterprise Resource Planning Administrator
Seeking a talented individual with a passion for information technology and experience in the area of application administration. Primary responsibilities include management of the agency’s Enterprise Resource Program (Munis ERP) for finance and human resource management. Specific duties will include account management, application support and development, training and user support. Requires a knowledge of application administration, technical aptitude, and financial and human resource operations. Experience with HRIS/Finance systems or Munis ERP a plus. Community Outreach/Intake Specialist
Full time, salaried position to serve as the primary intake person for Intellectual and Developmental Disability services. Activities include meeting with individuals and families to complete functional assessments, adding individuals to the statewide Developmental Disability Waiting list, planning and/or attending community outreach events, and supporting the ID/DD program’s management of the DD Waiver slot allocation process. Candidates need the ability to track and organize numerous concurrent requests for services, an ability to clearly communicate and explain complex systems and procedures, and a willingness to speak to community groups in various public settings. Requires knowledge of developmental disabilities and documentation procedures; and a working knowledge of client rights and local service systems.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in human services, special education or a related specialty, plus developmental disability work experience or relevant education that indicates that at entry level he possesses the knowledge, skills, and abilities indicated above.
ACT Peer Recovery Specialist
HRCSB is seeking a qualified individual who is passionate about recovery and empowering individuals to join our team of Peer Recovery Specialists! The role of a Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS) is to provide non-clinical, person-centered, strength-based, wellness focused, and trauma informed support while helping to ensure the individual’s Recovery, Resiliency, and Wellness Plan aids an individual in living a meaningful and independent life in the community. Peer Recovery Specialists are individuals who identify themselves as having lived experience with mental health and/or substance use disorder, or co-occurring disorder, and are in active long-term recovery. Preferred candidates are those who are insightful about their recovery and articulate their experience well to others. Successful Peer Recovery Specialists are able to offer encouragement and support without judgment. PRS will offer services in individual and group settings at the Agency and in the community. This position is part of our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team to provide services to adults with a serious mental illness diagnosis, substance use disorder diagnosis, and/or co-occurring disorder. The PRS meets regularly with the team of HRCSB Peers and Peer Program Coordinator for mutual support and guidance. This position is full time and may include evening and weekend coverage.
Residential Relief Staff – Hourly
Looking for an hourly position that fits around your current school or work schedule? Would you like to earn hours towards credentialing in the Mental Health field? HRCSB now has an opening for an hourly staff to provide direct services to the residents of CSB operated supervised residential program. Services are provided 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Relief staff work hours are primarily evenings and weekends. Duties include direct training and support to residents to improve their community living skills; supportive and/or educational counseling; crisis intervention; providing skill building activities to promote community integration. Position requires working knowledge of mental illness and/or substance use; and the ability to work effectively with clients and service providers in the community. Valid Virginia driver’s license and good driving record required. Bachelor’s degree in a human services related field or equivalent coursework required. Position open until filled.
